BIO/CONTACT

Daria Lazo is a London-based visual artist and photographer. Her practice is heavily lens-based and explores the complexities of body politics and social issues. In her work she primarily utilises analogue photography and moving image, but also incorporates sculptural and alternative photographic processes. Influenced by her background in film production, Daria's work often takes on a cinematic quality, conceptually delving into themes of body, movement, and self-identity. Most recently, her focus centers on the experiences of women, particularly in relation to womanhood, mental health, and body image. She actively challenges the spectator's gaze, dismantling objectification and inviting a more nuanced understanding of the female form.
